“Collect Moments NOT Things”
When was the last time you did something for YOU? Solely for the memories you’ll make, and the happiness you’ll feel?
Not for the amount of likes you will receive…not for the amount of followers you will gain…
Don’t get me wrong–social media is a bad habit of mine, and I’m positive I have over exposed my fair share of memories! But it’s what we do best! It’s how we’ve grown up!! Can you really blame me?
I’ll admit, I’m a sucker for a special announcement or vacation spam just as much as the next guy. But when you sit back and think about it, WHY? WHY do we care so much?
Is it because you appreciate the artistic side of the photography, you love the drama and gossip, or you just like to live vicariously through others!?
It really saddens me to think about how many people get so caught up in their busy lives, and tend to just EXIST rather than LIVE! We were given such a limited amount of time on this planet and I for one, refuse to sit back and let it pass me by.
I just hope that we can all learn to appreciate the finer things such as a golden sunset in the evening…the feeling of butterflies in your chest when you see that special someone…the smell of the air after a summer rain… THESE are the moments that matter!
Let’s all try to focus more on collecting memories, rather than things…
The pictures, the posts, the physical items–all will be gone! But the one thing we are guaranteed to keep in our hearts are the memories.
So I challenge you!! Go out and do something fun or exciting–and do it for YOU!
I promise, the rewarding feeling you’ll get by just letting go and living your life freely will be worth more than a thousand likes and retweets!
(Here’s to a good and fulfilling life!! Go ahead, crack open a cold one with the boys and enjoy it!! 😉
